Mid night encounter rattles Shopian village | KNO

Shopian, August 02 (KNO) : Mid night gunfight between militants and government forces has Pandushan village and it's adjacent areas in South Kashmir's Shopian District. Official sources told KNO that a joint team of Army's 34 Paras, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Pandushan area after receiving credible inputs about the presence of militants in the area. A senior police official told KNO that as soon as forces intensified search operation towards suspected spot, hiding militants fired upon forces which was retaliated triggering an encounter As per the sources two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area. Till this report was being filed intermittent firing was going on.(KNO)
